Bodyform Maxipads-Social Media Genius

On October 8, 2012, a man by the name of Richard Neill posted the following rant on the Facebook page of UK maxipad maker, Bodyform:

Richard Neill to Bodyform
Richard Neill to Bodyform

Before I unveil Bodyform’s response to Mr. Neill, take a look at some of the photos they’ve used in their advertising:

Do you look this happy during "that time of the month?"
Do you look this happy during “that time of the month?”

Now, rather than ignore the post, the company one-upped Mr. Neill with the following ad that confesses that their advertising was indeed false and offers Mr. Neill a sincere apology (be sure to watch to the end):

Bodyform’s Response to Richard Neill

I applaud Bodyform for their sense of humor and their willingness to engage Mr. Neill. It almost makes me wish that I was still a consumer of such products. This, in my opinion, is social media at its finest.

What do you think? After watching Bodyform’s video, would you buy their products?

I love hearing from you. And to prove it, for every comment you leave, you’ll be entered into a drawing. At the end of the month, I will draw a lucky winner who will receive a $10 gift card (your choice, Amazon, Starbucks or iTunes). Winners will be announced in the first post of the following month.

  1. Richard is getting more than he bargained for I’m guessing. Good for Bodyform for handling the post so, um, professionally. ? . ?

    I liked it.
